Utah Book Cliffs Mule Deer Hunts

The Utah Book Cliffs are home to some excellent mule deer hunting. With seemingly endless stretches of high-desert country, the unit offers a lot of prime mule deer habitat. Deer numbers are not what they were during the unit’s glory years, but the herd appears to be making a comeback and the area continues to produce quality bucks.

Our focus is on hunters who want to get away from the majority of the hunting pressure and pack into the remote Roadless portion of the unit. We have a comfortable camp located roughly seven miles from the trailhead and access it on horseback. This gives hunters the opportunity to spend more time in remote country and less time competing with road-based hunting pressure.

Hunters can expect to see a number of bucks in the 140–150-inch class, with good opportunities for mature deer in the 165–180-inch range. Larger bucks are always possible. Whether you draw a tag for the north or south portion of the Book Cliffs, we have options to help you make the most of your hunt.
