Nearly 20 Years Running Hounds on the Manti
I have been running hounds on the Manti for nearly 20 years. I’m not going to claim it is the best bear hunt in the state, but it is a great place to kill a good bear when you know where to look.
How We Hunt the Manti
The Manti is the largest unit in Utah and has great road access, giving us a lot of country to hunt. We use trucks and buggies when hunting with hounds. We start early in the morning and cut roads throughout the day, looking for a mature boar to send the dogs after.
Like our mountain lion hunts, this hunt includes two guides working from separate trucks. That doubles our chances of finding a really good bear—we prefer to harvest mature boars—and adds a safety factor while we are deep in the woods.
Manti Bear Hunt Packages
Our standard package is a five-day fully guided trophy hunt.
- $4,250 — Meals and lodging are not included.
- $5,500 per hunter — Includes meals and lodging for five days of hunting. Lodging will most likely be a wall tent.
Because these tags have limited availability and every tag holder’s situation is different, we are willing to build a custom hunt package that fits your needs.
