The La Sal Mountain unit offers one of the most action-packed black bear hunts we conduct in Utah. I believe the La Sal has one of the best bear populations in the state, making it an excellent choice for hunters who want to see hounds work.
The La Sal Bear Hunting Experience
We can often catch one or two bears a day on the La Sal. Some of the biggest bears can be easier to find early in the season, although the hunting may be slower. Later in the season, bears cross the roads more frequently and the action can increase, but mature bears may be tougher to locate.
Two Guides Working for Your Bear
Like our mountain lion hunts, these hunts include two guides working from separate trucks to look for your bear each day. This lets us cover more country while also adding an important safety factor when we are deep in the woods. We prefer to harvest mature boars.
La Sal Black Bear Hunt Packages
- Five-day fully guided trophy hunt: $4,250. Meals and lodging are not included.
- Five-day hunt with meals and lodging: $5,500 per hunter. Lodging will most likely be in a wall tent.
